I am glad to have the singular honour, as the President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation from 2009-2013, to have initiated, and enforced a policy that the coaching crew of the senior and junior teams should be separated. Secondly, I directed, unlike in the past, that whoever produced more players in both gender streams should be on the team to competitions. That was what also got in Coach Richard Edem from Cross River state, who had the highest percentage of the senior
female national team players, to go to the Commomwealth, All-Africa, Olympics Games in succession, along with others. Thirdly, flowing from above, I specifically, also, signed Coach Dotun Omoniyi to lead the male team to Congo Brazzaville, It was this breakthrough championships, that birthed the subsequent opportunities that came his way at the national and continental levels. It included his attendance the Youth Olympics in Singapore. I directed, that he should go with the player that he nurtured, Ojo Onaolapo. At Brazzaville, I was the head of the Nigerian delegation, as we went to Cotonou, in neighbouring Benin Republic, to board ASKY Airline to Congo, en route Gabon. And I also designated the appointment of the only female member of the board, Mrs. Jegede as Chaperon. It is pleasurable to recall that Coach Kasali Lasisi, who was head coach of Congo table tennis teams, treated us to our local delicacy, eba and egusi. It was after the final that had the First Lady, Mrs Nguesso as guest of honour
